No More Lies,
No More Lies by Mona Risk
Mona Risk writes a beautiful love story about second chances and being afraid to take a leap of faith. Fans of Mona Risk will not be disappointed with her latest book, No More Lies. It is a fast paced book that you just can’t put down until the end.
When her boss takes a six month sabbatical, Olivia Crane an already overworked psychiatrist, looks forward to a visiting French psychiatrist’s help. That is until she realizes that Dr. Lucien de Vicour-Michelet is the same Dr. Luc George that she fell in love with ten years earlier. The name change throws Olivia for a loop, not knowing that two years earlier Luc had inherited the title of `count’ along with the land and a chateau, when his uncle died.
The last thing that Olivia needs is the added complication of having Luc back in her life again. Immediately the mere smell of his cologne brings back sweet memories of their year long romance. Ten years ago she pushed him away, in order to maintain her secret. Now with him here in Cincinnati for the next six months, she knows it is inevitable that he will find out about Melissa, her daughter. As an immature naïve eighteen year old freshman Olivia fell in love with the charming Jeremy Rutherford, a senior. The relationship abruptly ended when she got pregnant and Jeremy physically abused her when she refused to have an abortion. Returning home, Olivia had Melissa and let her parents raise her to keep her hidden and safe from Jeremy and his rich parents. She told Melissa that her father was a war hero named Joe Madden who had died in Kuwait.
Ten years ago, during her affair with Luc, Olivia had been too scared to tell him about Melissa because she thought she’d lose his respect. When he went back to France, it was easier to tell him she didn’t love him. Her first priority must always be keeping her secret to protect Melissa.
Luc’s intentions are to win Olivia’s heart once and for all. She is the only woman he has ever truly loved and this time, he will stop at nothing to keep her in his life. However, Olivia believes that she can not give her heart to Luc, because her sole existence surrounds Melissa. But the more Olivia is around Luc, the more she feels the pull of desire and attraction. She realizes that she never stopped loving him, but is love enough?
Will Olivia give Luc and herself a chance at happiness or will she slam the door in Luc’s face once again in order to protect Melissa? Will Olivia trust Luc enough to help her face her demons and tell Melissa the truth?
You’ll have to read No More Lies to find out. It is a wonderfully written book about true love and the rarity of second chances. I would prescribe that anyone wanting a lighthearted fast-paced love story should read this book. I give it a five star rating with a `must buy this book’. The heat level is adult mainstream.

|Great Contemporary Romance,
An emotional story of a woman’s struggle to overcome the trauma of past events and recapture the love of her life. This book kept me turning the pages to find out how Olivia and Luc would come to terms with the secrets that had caused them to break up years earlier. Olivia is a strong, independent heroine and her daughter is a delight. Luc is an interesting hero, intelligent, determined and gorgeous. And French!

|A Fantastic Read,
A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW
Reviewed by: Silvermage
Olivia Crane and Luc used to be an item. Olivia, a psychiatrist, and Luc meet again. At first she didn’t know who he was because he is was listed under a different name. They now have to work together, while dealing with the past. Luc wants them to get back together. They meet often on the job as he oversees a lot of her patients. Soon Olivia and Luc meet a woman that has been abused by her husband and they disagree with how things should be handled. They do figure out what to do to the abusive husband Jeremy.
Luc finds out that Olivia has a daughter named Melissa who is sixteen years old. He spends time getting to know her. All three of them go over to Olivia’s mothers for dinner. Olivia’s mother likes Luc and wants Oliva to get back with him.
Will Olivia decide that Luc is worth getting back together with? What will happen to Jeremy and how will Melissa deal with her car accident?
No More Lies was a fantastic read. I enjoyed the slow relationship between Oliva and Luc and how he was so caring toward Melissa and Olivia’s family. The plot was also very well thought out and the pacing on target. The wonderful healing that took place in this book also made it a very sweet read.
